Annual Conclave

Our 5th Annual Conclave on 'Shaping India's Urban Agenda' was held on 14th March, 2018 at the Nehru Memorial Museum & Library's auditorium in New Delhi.

The conclave is an attempt at surfacing deep-rooted governance issues in India's cities and getting key stakeholders, especially senior bureaucrats and policy-makers, take note and discuss sustainable solutions to the urban challenge.

The conclave began with an opening speech by the Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Shri. Hardeep Singh Puri and the launch of the ASICS 2017 report. This was followed by a panel discussion on the report's findings around the themes of urban planning, municipal finance and staffing, powers of elected representatives and transparency and citizen participation in governance.

The discussion was moderated by CNBC TV 18's executive editor, Latha Venkatesh and the panelists included Shri. Hardeep Puri, MoHUA, Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai, India Sanitation Coalition and Past President, FICCI, Mr. Yuri Afanasiev, UN Resident Coordinator, India, Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Ayog and Dr. Junaid Ahmed, World Bank Director, India.
