Creating Awareness
Creating Awareness
In order to create awareness among youth and to sow the seeds of citizenship in their minds, we will engage them through novel and interesting events. This will be done through debates, collage competitions, quiz, movie screening, book reading sessions and so on. Apart from this, we will also reach out to a larger audience through participation in college fests where the message can be conveyed through street plays, theater, music contests, etc. Mega-events organized entirely by Yuva Janaagraha volunteers are also on the cards!
Through our activities, we attempt to achieve the following:
Some awareness activities planned are:
- Look who's talking - a career counseling series with leading business heads
- DISHA – theater festival with civic oriented themes
- Debates/Discussions in colleges
- Collage, Writing, Quiz competitions
- Movie screening
- Book reading
- Mock City Council
- Street plays
- Photography contests
- Music contests
- Youth Conferences with invited guest speakers
- Panel discussions with selected govt. officials
The first step involves a session on Understanding Local Government which focuses on the structure of government, different local agencies in Bangalore , the challenges faced by them and the importance of youth participation.

One of the colleges that are actively involved in Yuva Janaagraha is IBS Bangalore. In an attempt to solving this problem they are working on a civic project. The objective of this project has been to set up a bus stand near the college on Kanakapura Road. Through this process, they have had an opportunity to interact with the BMTC and BBMP as well as carry out surveys near the college.
