Communications
Extending the platform for debate and dialogue
Janaagraha Communications facilitates information exchange and dialogue across stakeholder groups with the goal of positioning Janaagraha’s added value and our work in the context of Urban Governance and Citizen Participation.
The Programme decisions involve identification of appropriate decision-makers in making theJanaagraha goala reality. Communications is then tailored to effectively reach and engage these decision makers – State Government, Elected Representatives, and Urban voters. The work also involves individual programme communications planning. This is done in collaboration with team leaders of various Janaagraha programmes for the overall development, establishment and implementation of work-plans ensuring objectives are met. The communications function also involves assessing internal resources and developing plans for capacity building and knowledge management.
The mass outreach through the media also envisages a sensitisation of media-persons. Regular interactions with mainline Pressand electronic media, as well as alternative media channels proactively sets the tone for a better understanding of contemporary ideas and solutions to better city management and well-structured platforms for deepening democratic practices.
The communications delivery for Janaagraha’s messages and information are of myriad nature: film, radio, street theatre, publications, campaign collateral, and more.
