Public Toilets
Until recently, most of the public toilets in Bangalore were haphazardly constructed and unhygienically maintained. This posed a health hazard to the neighbourhood. The construction of the new Nirmala Bangalore Toilets in Bangalore by the BATF made public toilets user-friendly.
However, many footpaths in the city are still the favourite spots for most men to relieve themselves quickly. Public toilets are sparse even on the ring roads, with lorries lining up as drivers go relieve themselves by the side of the road. Much needs to be done, both by citizens and the Government.
