Garbage: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
A critical city service requirement is Solid Waste Management (SWM). In Bangalore, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike or BMP monitors SWM. For the purpose of SWM, each ward has been sub-divided into 2 to 4 health wards. There are a total of 297 health wards in Bangalore. Out of these 297 health wards, 115 are being managed by the BMP through its employees. The remaining 182 are tendered and contracted privately for collecting and transporting garbage.
