Building Violation and Land Encroachment
For any building to be erected or altered in Bangalore, the owner of the land has to take approval of the building plan from the appropriate Engineering Department of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) . The approval is in the form of a Building Licence.
Land encroachment is the illegal occupation of public/private land or building by any person other than the owner or any person authorized by him. With pressure on land increasing day by day, land encroachment has become commonplace.
