Bala Janaagraha Volunteer Opportunities
Shaping young citizens
Volunteer opportunities
Bala Janaagraha programme is conducted in partnership with community members, teachers, employees from several companies, organizations and parents. The programme is designed to facilitate these partners to volunteer their energy, experience and enthusiasm to excite, motivate, and inspire young children to understand and put into practise the values and responsibilities of a citizen. It helps them connect with communities and understand first-hand the idea of grassroots engagement and democracy.
The volunteers can participate in various Bala Janaagraha activities:
- Participate in the class room sessions - interact, teach and guide the children in discussions
- Accompany the children on field trips
- Guide the children with their civic project work
- Organize an event like the civic exhibition
- Volunteer to put together written programme material and instructions
- Coordinate with school management, teachers and Janaagraha to run the programme
Experienced community members with good communication skills who are actively engaged in civic issues in their ward can volunteer their time and share their experience by interacting with the children in the class room sessions, accompanying them on their field trips, and guiding them with their project work. Volunteers can use their coordination skills and help in organizing an event like the civic exhibition. If you have good written communication skills you can even put together programme material and instructions. People with a passion to serve can volunteer to instill in children the idea of service and volunteerism. You can volunteer for a minimum of 10 to 40 hours in a year.
