During the financial year 2016-17, Janaagraha witnessed a pivotal period, making significant strides across all three of its key initiatives: Civic Learning, Civic Participation, and Advocacy and Reforms. The organization’s Civic Learning program effectively reached approximately 40,000 students in 536 schools across 25 cities. The contribution to Civic Participation was evident through the development of the Swachhata mobile and web application for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, serving as an extension of Janaagraha’s I Change My City (www.ichangemycity.com) platform. Furthermore, the organization’s efforts in Advocacy and Reforms, particularly through the Annual Survey of India’s City-Systems (ASICS) and Municipal Finance, displayed significant progress. The Annual Report provides comprehensive insights into Janaagraha’s work and the impact it generated during the course of 2016-17.
