Civic Participation
JB-CI – Report
2014

Urban research and understanding have remained notably constrained. With the ongoing transformations in India’s urban landscape, it becomes imperative to shift the predominant rural perspective towards a fresh urban outlook to discern its policy and pragmatic consequences.
In line with this vision, the Janaagraha-Brown Citizenship Index (JB-CI) project was conceived in 2012 as a collaborative effort between scholars and practitioners. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between research and practical knowledge, culminating in the creation of a potent tool, the Citizenship Index. This index aims to streamline discussions by rendering a wealth of data more comprehensible and accessible to a wider audience.
