Crowdsourced Retail BriberyIndex (CRBI)

The Crowd-sourced Retail Bribe Index (C-RBI), an initiative by Janaagraha, uses www.ipaidabribe.com (IPAB) data to inform citizens about retail corruption in India. As IPAB reports increase in number and diversity, the C-RBI aims to become a measure of corruption, powered by a large crowdsourced database.

In its first year, the C-RBI focuses on six major cities: Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad, chosen based on IPAB report volumes. This initiative includes an index ranking corruption at national and city levels, city comparisons on bribe costs, and an interactive tool estimating lifetime bribery costs from IPAB data. The C-RBI empowers citizens and leaders to push for transparency and accountability in retail transactions nationwide.
