Examining the role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Bengaluru, this study aims to investigate how issues in BLO functioning might contribute to the errors observed on urban voter lists. Conducted in three phases, with both qualitative and quantitative interviews, the research focuses on understanding the challenges within BLO operations and their potential impact on inaccuracies in urban voter lists. It also highlights the accessibility of BLOs, their identities, the level of support and training provided by the ECI, and the methods used in their duties. Moreover, the study delves into the obstacles faced by BLOs in Bangalore and evaluates their overall job satisfaction.
