Civic Learning
Civic Learning Impact Assessment 2018-19
2019

In 2002, Janaagraha initiated a civic learning program in India to cultivate informed, responsible, and active citizens, focusing on local civic issues. This included a facilitator-led model implemented with Grade 8 students across 100 schools in Bengaluru during the 2018-19 academic year. The program, though shortened to 10 sessions without specific civic projects, still demonstrated significant impact: civic knowledge rose notably, civic attitudes positively shifted, and civic behaviors reflected increased engagement and responsibility. This program effectively contributes to shaping an informed, responsible, and civically engaged citizenry, aligning with its core objective.
