Manpower RequirementsStudy March 2014

As part of the Community Policing initiative, Janaagraha conducted a study on the functioning of police stations and the work of police personnel. One such study was the Manpower Requirements Study, which followed a process mapping exercise. This study aimed to establish a systematic approach for estimating the required manpower in a police station through a work study. The report presents the study’s findings and offers guidelines for determining the necessary number of police personnel in a station. A significant outcome of the study is the Manpower Estimation Model.

The study was conducted in two police stations in Bangalore, specifically Banaswadi and Rajagopalnagar, involving a total of 170 police personnel. It focused on gathering data regarding the tasks performed by police personnel and the time allocated for various duties. This information was obtained through work study questionnaires and personal interviews. For further insights, please refer to the full report.
