MY CITY MY BUDGET

The ‘MyCityMyBudget’ collaborative initiative by Janaagraha and BBMP marks a significant milestone in participatory budgeting. For over five years, citizens have highlighted pressing concerns such as drivability, footpaths, walkability, and health in Bengaluru. In 2020-21, the focus turned to pedestrian infrastructure and public urination. With a comprehensive compilation of 9,706 inputs from all 198 wards, the campaign contributed to the BBMP Budget 2020-21. This report presents a retrospective analysis of the initiative, outlining the process, outcomes, and future implications for citizen-driven budget allocations in urban governance.
